The perfect winter tonic for when you are feeling under the weather!
Fresh turmeric can be regularly found at Huckleberrys, but if not, ground turmeric can be substituted.
Ingredients:
- 4 cm of both fresh turmeric and fresh ginger, thinly sliced stick of cinnamon
- 2 star anise
- sprig of fresh bay leaves
- teaspoon of black peppercorns
- 1⁄4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 5 litres of water
Method:
- Place all ingredients in saucepan on medium heat and bring to a simmer.
- Reduce heat to low, cover with lid and cook for 20 minutes.
Can be enjoyed hot or cold.
